Dr. Derrick R. J. Kolling
Chair and Professor, Department of Chemistry
Dr. Kolling received his B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Penn State University, his Ph.D. in Biophysics and Computational Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and completed his post-doctoral training at Princeton University. His prior work has focused on various components of photosynthetic pathways and the viability of algal biofuels.
In his free time, Dr. Kolling is an avid bird enthusiast, enjoys collecting vinyl records, and spending time with his wife and son.
